The house is just off Upper Street,
and moments from the famous Almeida Theatre and The King's Head; with Sadler's
Wells just 10 minutes away. There are a wealth of fashionable
shops, cafes and
restaurants on the doorstep (including Granita's where Tony Blair and Gordon
Brown were reputed to have made "The Deal"!)
The house itself is full of Italian, French and Moroccan pieces, collected over the years from Valerie's travels. Her theatrical background is reflected in the house, with many of the walls being ragged, stencilled and sponged to give a cosy and warm atmosphere. The basement bedrooms are light, comfortable and welcoming, and the theatrical mood extends to the conservatory (built over two floors) where guests are welcome to sit - weather permitting!) The house has been featured in various magazines for its design quality (including "Period Living and Traditional Homes" and "Homes and Gardens"), and on the Channel Four series "Other People's Houses".
The house is located between Angel
tube and Highbury Islington tube. There are also many buses moments from
Valerie's home, taking you directly into the city, the West End and to the River
Thames. An excellent location.
